Here are some amazing photos of the finished
Enterprise-E model I detailed in my last post. These photos were all taken by the supremely talented "Tech One" of
Patrol Tech, a YouTube series aiming to bring you tech help and tips.

Anyway, here are the pictures. As I talked about in my past post, what really made the model come alive for me was the aftermarket decals from
Acreation Models. Without them, it's still a pretty good model, but they really do add that finishing touch.
I built the stand rather than using the kit version. I felt that the stained wood look was a little nicer than the original stand. However, I could have built it a bit sturdier! |
The one thing that really disappoints me about the end result of this model is the windows. I think that the bright yellow was overdoing it. Plus, the colors ran a little bit, leaving some of the windows a bit of a mess! |
This shot shows off some more of the Acreation decals that cover most of the model. The patterns on the hull panels would have been very difficult to reproduce without them! |
More pictures after the jump!

The "Big E" in all her glory! |
I love how the blue came out on the warp nacelles. Clear parts can be tricky to work with, but they can look amazing if done right! |
However, the red on the warp nacelles didn't come out very well. I had previously messed up the clear part so had to paint it a solid red. I think it would look much better had I been able to keep them clear! |
A closer look at the bussard collector. I could have done better! |
This shot really illustrates what I meant about the windows. The yellow was a bit much. If I do the model again, I would definitely use something else, like a light blue or white for the lit windows. The yellow doesn't work all that well. |
All-in-all, not a bad model. It went together very smoothly, and the Acreation decals worked very well! |
I think that if I had another chance to do this model, there are a number of changes I would make. A better-engineered stand, more careful work on the clear parts, and those windows! I would definitely do the windows differently. If only Round 2 had recently issued another re-release of this kit.
Oh, wait! What's this?
The latest re-release of AMT's Enterprise-E kit, which hit shelves earlier this year! Maybe I can take another crack at this one... |
Thanks again to "Tech One" for the fantastic photography! Much appreciated!
Thanks for reading, and see you next time!
